6 OF CHINA'S MOST WANTED FUGITIVES BELIEVED TO BE IN SINGAPORE

According to the latest fugitive list released by China yesterday, 6 of China's most wanted commercial fugitives are living in Singapore or using Singapore as one of their places of residence.
The list featured 100 of China's wanted list all of whom have been listed on Interpol's red list requesting assistance from other countries to catch them and send them back to China to face charges.
The problem is that China does not have extradition treaties with many of the countries that the fugitives have gone to so they remain at large. Most of hte fugitives rae in the US and Canada but there are 6 believed to be in Singapore too.
The list was published on China's Central Commission for Dicipline Inspection website. The fugitives are wanted for various crimes but mostly for economic and white collar crimes like corruption, and misappropriation.
Here are the 6 believed to be based in Singapore:

Liang Jinwen, official in an auto firm in Guangdong, wanted since 1997
Liu Changming, party boss of Bank of Communications in Guangzhou, wanted since 2009
Li Huabo, a former Jiangxi official, wanted since 2011
Shi Yang, Liaoning propaganda official, wanted since 2014
Huang Shuimu, chairman of a property firm in Fujian, wanted since 2014
Han Jianpeng, legal rep of an investment firm in Hebei, wanted since 2014
The effort to track down these fugitives is also part of China's wider clean up of corruption.
According to some CSI done by TREmeritus, at least one of the fugitives was granted PR in Singapore under the investors scheme after he bought expensive properties here.
However, his corrupt ways had not changed as he was later convicted in Singapore of illegally receiving close to $200,000 into his local bank accounts here. He was sentenced to 15 months in jail for the crime and following that, it is not known where he is or whether his family would also have their PR status revoked.
