SINGAPORE: A police investigation will be conducted into the death of a Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) regular serviceman on Friday (Apr 17). He was found unconscious in Stagmont Camp on Friday morning and was pronounced dead about one and a half hours later in hospital.
The Ministry of Defence (Mindef) said in a statement on Saturday that Master Warrant Officer (MWO) Jude Sebastian Vincent, 49, was immediately sent to the Stagmont Medical Centre.
He arrived at about 10.35am where an SAF Medical Officer attended to him immediately. At 11am, MWO Vincent was then sent by an SAF ambulance to National University Hospital (NUH), where he arrived at 11.15am. The SAF Medical Officer and medics continued to resuscitate him on the way to the hospital.
MWO Vincent was pronounced dead at 11.54am at NUH.
Mindef and the SAF have extended their deepest condolences to the family of the late MWO Vincent, and the SAF is assisting the family in their time of grief.
