Lee Hsien Loong said that next GE will be "dead serious" He is right. Next GE will be serious for all Singaporeans and dead for LHL. To get that Alternative Parties must work well and beat the pap decisively. APs can employ two basic strategies as follows:
Strategy 1. APs to contest all 87 seats and hope to take over government from the PAP. It is assessed that there is a 30% chance that APs can win at least 44 seat and so form the government
Strategy 2. APs to contest 43 seats giving 44 seats to the PAP. It is assessed that there is an 85% chance that APs can win 30 to 43 seats thereby denying the pap 2/3 majority.
Principal Considerations
1. Most Singaporeans are angry with the PAP
2. Many Singaporeans don't realise that Singapore is in bad shape and is afraid that APs are not ready to take over the govt.
Considering (2) above, APs can swing most voters to vote APs if the voters know that PAP can be govt and yet be denied 2/3 majority. So APs are almost assured of victory against the PAP if they can pitch their "A" Teams against PAP "C" teams. Voters will be very comfortable and confident to vote for the APs.
In conclusion, APs should adopt Strategy 2 and aim to get between 30 to 43 seats at the next GE. Then in GE 2020, APs can go in and kill the pap totally. In order to do that, consider contesting only 43 seats and give pap 44 seats on Nominations Day. If so, it is almost guaranteed that all angry voters will vote APs and slap pap
