Background Story: KOI Café Apologises to Woman who was told to F*ck Off by Their Staff (http://therealsingapore.com/content/koi-caf%C3%A9-apologises-woman-who-was-told-fck-their-staff)

KOI Café announced on Monday that they have now fired the foreign staff member who was involved in the incident resulting in a customer complaining about her treatment in a viral video.

The customer, Ms Gia Munaji Salamat, had been told to “F*ck Off” by a counter staff named Rachel at the Boon Lay MRT KOI Express branch. Rachel then allegedly called Ms Gia an “Ugly B*tch”.

Ms Gia took to facebook to express her disappointment and disbelief in the vulgarities used on her, a customer.

Since her complaint video went viral, KOI Café apologised publicly and explained that they have gotten in touch with the relevant parties.

Ms Gia had met with two managers from KOI Café who gave her a bouquet of flowers and a handwritten letter of apology from Rachel.

They also explained that Rachel, who is a foreign student has since been fired due to the incident.

In her apology letter, Rachel, the foreign staff member wrote to Ms Gia:

“I am terribly sorry about my actions and words towards you that day. I am deeply regretful for causing you stress and indignity over my unfair behaviour towards you."

She also took the opportunity to explain a bit about her own stress writing that "I just hope you understand that I was under immense stress not just at work but at other matters as well, therefore I was unable to control my emotions."

Ms Gia expressed that she was impressed with the efficiency of KOI Café in dealing with the matter but she also explained that she felt a bit bad that Rachel had lost her job.
Ms Gia explained that she did not have ill intentions against Rachel when she first made the video, she just wanted to complain about her bad treatment as she had felt very upset after the incident.
