Only there is a criminal slander the police will take action. Free service to the plaintiff.
Stupid Mud kenna conned, jaik leow bee, wait kenna countered sued back by the defender if police drop the case under Sec 2X and 2X of defamation act.
Any civil servant/ police letter send to a person can be sued by the receiver for slander if the allegation was not true.
A former NSP candidate, Abdul Salim Harun, for Marine Parade GRC in the 2011 general election has filed a police report (29 Sep) against close associates of the PAP for slandering him online.
According to Mr Salim, a Facebook user by the name of Jin Zheng slandered him on the Facebook page, “Fabrications About The PAP” [Link].
The “Fabrications About The PAP” Facebook page was created and administered by one Jason Chua Chin Seng. According to its page description, it is supposed to dispel “fabrications” about PAP:
