An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:
29 year old Tan Wee Beng was sentenced to 13 months in jail and three strokes of the cane for sneaking into a HDB flat, peeping at a 16 year old in the shower and molesting her before running away.
The offence occurred on January 3rd this year when Tan was walking along the corridors of a HDB block in the central area.
He had come across one flat where the front door was open and the metal gate unlocked.
Trying to disguise himself, the man took off his clothes and used his T-shirt to cover his face before going into the flat.
There were two young girls in the flat, the younger sister was watching TV in the living room while the 16 year old was in the shower.
The young girl shouted at Tan but he ignored her and proceeded to the bathroom where he stood on a stool and peeping into the shower.
The 16 year old victim covered herself with a towel and tried to push Tan out of the flat.
Tan scratched her while he resisted and then molested her before taking off.
He was later caught as his face was captures in the lift's CCTV camera and his photos were published in newspapers.
Seeing his photos on the newspapers, he turned himself in to the police.
Tan was charged with insulting the modesty of a woman, voluntarily causing hurt and using criminal force with intent to outrage the girl's modesty.
The maximum penalty Tan could have faced was 2 years jail a fine and caning.
