Recently, the MRT system in vancouver, canada, called the Skytrain broke down. But look at what they did compared to what MRT did not do. Skytrain did the following:

- Admitted fault right away, and took the blame for the breakdown
- apologize for the inconvenience
- offered free day of unlimited travel
- will hold a COI with an independent committee. In fact, I understand they are asking the former CEO of the Toronto MRT to run the inquiry.

Compared with MRT:

- u late and u inconvenienced by our breakdowns, your problem, not ours.
- Offer what compensation? What free ride? wait long long.
- COI is one big wayang. Panel is filled with pro PAP, pro MRT, cronies. all with no expertise in running a mass transit system
- We are not answerable to u. We are the only game in town. u don't like it, buy a car. wait, u cannot afford car? Tough shit

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – TransLink says yesterday’s system-wide SkyTrain shutdown was due to human error.

The transit authority says an electrician installing a new circuit breaker for the Evergreen Line accidentally tripped the main breaker feeding SkyTrain’s critical systems.

The Millenium and Expo lines were shut down for nearly five hours. TransLink says the power outage not only stopped trains, but also affected its ability to communicate over the SkyTrain PA systems.

TransLink’s COO admits it had a major impact on commuters. It plans to make it up to customers by offering a free free day of transit on BC Day; full details are expected soon.

“Our trains are reliable 95 per cent of the time, but we know that is little consolation for customers who are delayed for hours when we do have a significant breakdown,” says Doug Kelsey.
