According to a government survey conducted by the Ministry of Health, it would appear that most Singaporeans are happy with the government healthcare policies and are happy with the quality of the healthcare institutions.
MOH's Patient Satisfaction Survey found that 79.4% of patients were satisfied with their treatment in 2013, the highest rate since the start of the surveys in 2004.
In particular, the MOH found that Government subsidised Polyclinics under the National Healthcare Group and SingHealth were the best in terms of patient satisfaction.
The survey had analysed the responses of over 12,200 patients and found that 77.2% said that their treatment was either 'good' or 'excellent'. Only 3.4% said that their satisfaction level was 'poor' or 'very poor'.
Here is a comparison chart of patient sentiments last year and the year before:

The MOH also pointed out other areas where they have done well including "significant improvements" in patient satisfaction at three national specialty centres, namely: the National Cancer Centre, the National Dental Centre, and the Singapore National Eye Centre.
From the survey which they conducted themselves, MOH has concluded that healthcare service-quality has improved in Singapore and about 80% of Singaporeans are happy with the healthcare system.
The only major thing they noted was that they needed to improve the wait times experienced by patients at healthcare institutions.
Aside from this, MOH gave themselves a great review, emphasising that they have already improved compared to 2 years ago.
Do you think it's reasonable for MOH to be conducting their own surveys to judge their own performance? When their report highlights so many positives and concludes that Singaporeans are happy, will they be more likely to slack off believing that the system is already very good?
