An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:
First, he sends a lawyer letter to Roy Ngerng and paragraph 13 (b) ask Roy for his "written offer of damages and costs".
So, Roy replies with a written offer for $5000, which is rejected by gay loong. Well, than why bother asking Roy to state his damages? Shouldn't the victim name the damages in this kind of case. Its up to gay loong to put a dollar sum on this damages that he seeks. After all, in the prior libel suits filed by his father, wooden and him they have always named a dollar amount.
As far as Roy is concerned, he is generous to even offer $5000. His lawyer ravi should have stood his ground, and go to court to make gay loong proof that his reputation was actually damaged. I fail to see how gay loong will be able to find 5 sane people in singapore that actually believed that he personally stole CPF money, and hence if he cannot prove his reputation was damaged, he cannot win. Of course, the kangaroo courts will differ from my opinion.
