Looks like the PAP, the state controlled press have gone to ground on such an important national issue. If there is nothing to hide or feel that a money lender is a worthy grassroots leader leading the apex political body in a constituency they must come out and say so. They must convince Joe public why.
People are reeling from shock, from amazement to amusement on how did it come to this. It is now common knowledge that the brother went into the hardware plumbing trade after their success in money lending and not the other way around.
Money lending is such a blight, that our society is wrecked by it. I can' think of any country where doors, lifts, lift landings are routinely vandalised with paint, excrement, urine etc. Where people are padlocked in, doors set on fire and vehicles set alight.
Even more frightening is the intentional damage done to neighbours to force borrowers to pay up.
Albeit, there is a distinction between illegal and legal money lending, we all know that the parties play on both sides. The Govt has not been able to control these activities since it went rogue in the late 80s.
The PM who signed on David Poh's appointment to the CCC must explain clearly the basis of his appointment and why they could not find more suitable individual.
