It is hard not to believe that the FAP Traitors have signed some secret pact to sell SG away to the Pinoys. First the KFC went to Pinoyland to declare that the Pinoys are 'an integral part of SG'. Then the FAP Traitor PM scolded and 'felt ashamed' of SGs opposing to Pinoys planting the Pinoy flag on Orchard Road. And now this!

After he and his family received a $1200 bill from Boat Quay during their stay, De La Salle College of St. Benilde professor Santiago Caaway was called up by the director of Singapore Tourism Board to apologize.

This is according to Caaway’s wife, Carolyn, in a message to InterAksyon.com Thursday.

“My husband has told me that just this morning, the Director of the Singapore Tourism Board called him up to personally apologize for what happened. He will be following up the case to make sure we are properly remunerated. Let’s hope everything goes well. We do not want this to happen to other tourists from our country and that is the reason why we allowed it to be publicized in Singapore. Thanks, God bless, have a good day ahead.” Carolyn said.

After the story was posted in singaporeseen.stomp.com or Straits Times Online Mobile Print a citizen-journalists blog in Singapore entitled “Filipino family receives $1,200 bill for dinner at Boat Quay—which includes $707 Alaskan king crab” the story became viral online.

Caaway, whose family are first-time visitors in Singapore, said they did not specify the kind of crab they wanted for their chili crab dish and expected to get the regular mud crab. But as it turns out, the restaurant served them the pricey variety.

The said article received different reactions from netizens.

Netizen Sarcasmparty21 commented on Tuesday, “ One thing you foreigners can do is. Do some research about it before going. It’s tacky of you decided to eat there but complains. Say singaporeans complains. Then why you come! just stay where you are if you know your salary is not even enough to pay for such expensive luxurious kind of place or food or even anything”

Added another internet use, Woodsbury, on Wednesday “That restaurant must share the blame. Their staffs are not trained to engage customers.”

And lastly, from Goushers on Tuesday “For menu items that is based on seasonal price, it should be made compulsory for waiter to inform customers about the price of their order before proceeding to make the order.

Boat Quay is located at Forum Seafood Village in Singapore and is one of the well-known seafood restaurants in Singapore. The said seafood restaurant has been accused of overcharging by other tourists right before the incident of Mr. Caaway.
