Foreign FTs will always love
Singapore and side with our govt because they open the gates for them to come
here. I totally agree with some of the comments here and do feel that these
foreigners are truly overpaid here. They are not only overpaid, they have also
been provided with housing and other benefits which a local does not get. Which
fool would not be happy with a country that provides them with such a fantastic
lifestyle? On top of that, they are paying a lot less tax than what they are
paying back home.

I want to stress that Singaporeans’ right to jobs here must be a priority of
our govt. It’s about survival of our own people. Most Singaporean males have
wasted 2 to 2.5 years of their work life by serving national service. Shouldn’t
we the Singaporeans have the right to demand for conditions that ensure our
survival in our own country? I strongly believe in that.

Globalization is a very bad thing for many countries as it benefits
cannibalism. When Singapore opened its gates to foreigners, it created a tsunami
of foreign influx. People from other countries rushed in because they could get
jobs here that earn a lot more than what they can find in their own country.
Even the expats here have better benefits and pay, so naturally they come. To
them, it’s a temporary stopover. They go to where they can get more money and a
better life. There is nothing wrong with that.

But the big problem lies with the fact that our own govt agencies and govt
linked companies are hiring these foreigners over our own locals. Not only that,
the foreigners are also being paid a lot more than locals for the same job! It’s
no wonder why the expats love Singapore. With their amount of pay, they can
afford to live a beautiful life here while our jobless Singaporeans cannot even
afford 3 meals a day.

We Singaporeans are not Lazy or Whiners! We just want to be paid fairly. We
need a salary that will allow us to lead a respectable life. That is all we ask.
Is that too much? But in order to do that, we need to find a job first which
apparently have all gone to foreigners.

Let me just ask the govt these questions:

1) Do FTs need to serve national service and waste 2.5 years of their work
life?
2) Do they have mortgages and kids born in Singapore to take care
of?
3) Do they have the high standard of education and school pressure that
we went through in Singapore?
4) Are our govt linked companies hiring only
local?

To all my above questions, I ask this: Why not?

So to all the expats and ang mohs out there, please do not lecture us on why
we complain so much. You have not sacrificed your time for Singapore, we have!
So if you think we the locals have been unfair to you, then please leave
Singapore. Don’t worry about our country going into the pits without foreigners
because I am very sure that when the shit hits the fan, Singaporeans will unite
and keep this country afloat.
