Jackie Chan has created internet buzz again over photos of him taken at a meeting of the Chinese People's Consultative Conference's culture and art group, where the movie star was seen giving an over-the-shoulder hug to singer Song Zuying, once rumored to have an ambiguous relationship with former president Jiang Zemin.

The photos have gone viral on China's popular social networking sites, reports iFeng.com, the website of the Hong Kong-based Phoenix Television.

Chan shook hands and greeted several members at the meeting, made up of noted figures from entertainment and literature. He then stood behind Song, put his hands on her shoulders and pasted his cheek against hers to whisper something in her ear.

Chan has been married to Taiwanese film star Joan Lin since 1992 but an affair with former Miss Asia Elaine Ng came to light in 1999, when Ng announced she was pregnant with Chan's child. Chan famously called the affair "a mistake that every man in the world makes."

Chan refused to sign autographs at the meeting, having grown tired of constant requests from reporters covering this year's CPPCC meeting. iFeng said the action star displayed a thoughtful attitude during the meeting and arranged the papers and stationery for the person sat next to him.

Song is one of China's best-known sopranos and has performed at the prestigious CCTV New Year's Gala for over two decades. She became a member of the PLA's song and dance troupe in 1991 and has won multiple awards for her singing and acting.

She is said to have won the heart of former Communist Party leader Jiang Zemin when she performed at the gala for the first time in 1990. When they shook hands on stage after the performance, Jiang would not let go of her hand while staring at her. Jiang is also alleged to have slipped a note to the singer saying: "If you have any trouble in the future, call your big brother who can help you fix anything." Song told others about the note at the peak of her entertainment career.
