National Service (NS)
Male Singapore citizens are liable for National Service at 16.5 years of age. They will be enlisted for two years of full-time National Service immediately upon reaching 18 years of age. They are also required to serve 40 days of Operationally Ready National Service every year until the age of 50 years (for officers) or 40 years (for non-officers).
