http://www.tremeritus.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/MCE2014-300x132.jpgAfter the Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE) opened two weeks ago, traffic within the Central Business District has become much heavier, leading to massive jams during peak hours.
Many vehicles exit Central Boulevard en route to Chinatown, Bugis and Orchard Road, leading to massive jams in Cross Street, Church Street, Telok Ayer Street and Robinson Road during evening peak hours.
Before the MCE opened, it took me about 10 minutes to travel from Church Street to Orchard Road. Now, it takes me at least 30 minutes.
Such jams increase pollution and reduce productivity and efficiency.
I urge the Land Transport Authority to resolve the problem promptly.
