"They were concerned. Concerned that their livelihoods would be affected by what happened on Sunday night in Little India. Rumours had reached them, about contracts being terminated and how no more workers from the Indian subcontinent would be allowed into Singapore. They were worried about being sent home, after borrowing money to land a job in Singapore. They like it here. They have no issues with their employers or with the G."
