An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:
Again Hri Kumar is trying to provoke and label WP as a party with no stand on all issues and selectively speak on issues that do not cost votes.
Let us recall what are the major issues we never heard PAP state their stand on before, even when the press picked up the story.
1) The Jurong East Mall has encountered accidents one after another - explosion, falling ceiling, shattered glass - obviously due to fraudulent works. People have been injured and owners suffered losses. What is the PAP's stand on that, or are they silent because the BCA is well known to be slack. That under the DPM's GRC somemore.
2) Singapore icon Fandi Ahmad criticized the establishment for treating local sports talents like trash. You'd recall the PAP was all silent and didn't rebut.
3) Ramping up the supply and speed of new flats doesn't take away the fact that new families will be homeless for years and are as good as broken/divorced families with husbands and wives staying apart. The PAP is silent and has no solution on what these families should do for those years.
4) For a long time people have pointedly noticed that high profile criminal cases involving death had to do with non-Singaporeans. Ionescu, the Ferrari driver, Huang Na, maid in water tank. Has the PAP ever had a stand on this or was it because they brought in too many foreigners so are shyly silent?
5) Nearly 20 killed themselves at Bedok Reservoir will tell anyone not stupid that there is a social malaise pervading society. PAP has never expressed a stand on the possible causes, because their policies led to stress.
6) Tissue selling syndicates have been using elderly folks as "salespersons" for decades. Some people feel the elderly have been exploited, others feel that at least they are provided with a living when no one else can. The PAP? It goes silent on this. Because their policies are the biggest cause of the exploitation?
