Ultimately it is about people submitting to the demand and will of our leaders.
It is not going very well for the people who are now suffering high income gap, many are unable to afford basic medical care and housing. Yet, the leaders enjoy easy red election because they have modified the democratic system heavily to win elections easily and hold power. A large segment due to heavy indoctrination by propaganda have become north-korean like unable to see the big picture and selfishly support the system because their own situation is okay forgetting the masses of Singaporeans who face hardship in jobs, retirement, sickness. and basic housing. ...transport
The long this system runs the more it worsens. .
Right now the PAP is just solving yesterday's problems to placate some of the people using adivide and conquer method to avoid deep reform that will transfer the benefits in the system back to the people. The sense of entitlement of the elites is just to great to get this done... and they want to retain a system that extracts from the people. For the people life will just get harder every year as the system will require them to support heavier and heavier burdens to support the elites at the top
