Despite Mary’s ''perpetual virginity'', Jesus had at least 4 brothers who are named in the Gospels — James, Joseph, Simon and :eek:JUDAS:eek: and unknown number of sisters. That Jesus had siblings is attested to repeatedly by the Gospels and the letters of Paul. Jesus’s brother James, would become the most important leader of the early Christian church after Jesus’s death.

Pontius Pilate was portrayed as a weak governor who was strong-armed by the Jews into sending Jesus to the cross. Pilate was renowned for troops into Jerusalem to slaughter Jews. In his 10 years as governor, Pilate sent thousands to the cross without trial.

The Gospels say Jesus’s body was brought down from the cross and placed in a tomb. In fact, criminals were first executed and then nailed to a cross. The primary purpose of crucifixion was to deter rebellion. Criminals were left hanging long after death and never buried. Corpses would be left to be eaten by dogs and picked clean by birds of prey. The bones would then be thrown into a trash heap, which is how Golgotha, the place of Jesus’s crucifixion, earned its name: the place of skulls.

### of course you all know Jesus was just a fictional figure as real as Darth Vader and Harry Potter:D
