An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:
Majority of our young Singaporeans today write and speak English very poorly.
You can also these sad state of affairs daily on the Facebook, television news subtitles and that which appears as "running news" below the television, especially Channel News Asia (CNA).
Even the Straits Times journalists today are the culprits. However, these was not the case with some veteran reporters like the late Abhisheganaden and Ben Davidson, who were good writers along with names famous names like N G Kutty, Lai Yew Kong, Khulwant Singh and many others.

During my time, we used simple books like FIRST AID IN ENGLISH".
The current authors of English and History books are also a disappointing lot. There are far too many glaring mistakes made by them.
Is this why, the young generation of today are what they are because of such authors.
