Child groomer to be given 'lengthy jail term'

The ACT Supreme Court has heard a man convicted of 17 charges related to grooming young girls can expect a lengthy jail sentence.
Indian national Navin Edwin, 33, has been found guilty of the offences during two trials.
Some of the children were as young as 12.
One victim who was 15 at the time had received messages, emails and exchanged images over the internet with Edwin.
On Tuesday she told the court how she had been diagnosed with a mental illness at the time and she now feels he used her vulnerable state against her.
The mother of another victim told the court Edwin's actions had devastated her family.
Edwin's lawyer told the court he had a privileged upbringing as the son of an Indian diplomat and it was unusual to find a person like him in this situation.
He said the offences happened when Edwin was under severe financial pressure, it has cost him his Australian family and he will be deported once he has served his sentence.
Prosecutor Mark Fernandez says his actions were a breach of trust.
Mr Fernandez told the court the offences were clearly not isolated incidents, given the number of victims.
The court heard the sentence is likely to involve a lengthy jail term.
Edwin will be sentenced in September.
