Around 450 women in India are believed to have been forced to take virginity and pregnancy tests ahead of a mass marriage ceremony which was organised by the Madhya Pradesh government.
In India, a bride's virginity is highly prized and pre-marital sex is frowned upon.
In 2009, more than 150 women were allegedly tested on government orders.
