One of the big winners of this year's Rome Film Festival is an italian erotic film entitled "And they call it summer". It won the awards for Best Director and Best Actress.

The film is about a man who cannot get it up with his wife, but who is obsessed with prostitutes.

Dammit.... it could have been describing me.... and I wonder if the film also mirrors the real life predicament of how many other people in this forum...

Not just you, the guy I will mention below too..

This man got his prescription for Viagra, and goes home to get ready for when his wife gets home. He calls her on the phone, and she says, "I'll be home in an hour."

"Perfect," he replies. He takes the Viagra and waits. Well, an hour goes by, the man is ready to go, but no wife? She calls him on the phone and she says, "Traffic is terrible. I won't be there for about an hour and a half."

The man, frustrated, calls his Doctor for advice. "What should I do?" he asks.

The Doctor replied, "It would be a shame to waste it. Do you have a housekeeper around?"

"Yes" the man replied.

"Well, maybe you can occupy yourself with her instead?" said the Doctor. The man then replied with dismay, "But I don't need Viagra with the housekeeper..."

Ha, ha..... nice little story there.

Incidentally, the other film worth watching that deals with sex addiction is entitled "Shame".

These are not pornographic films -- which are a dime a dozen. Instead they are genuine efforts to portray a predicament that is probably familiar to many males who need sexual variety -- and who doesn't? (Actually, if females were not so often repressed by male patriarchy, they would also love sexual variety.)
