Why don't you start by reading the sticky threads in the newbie section (http://www.sammyboyforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=9). They are created and regularly updated for people like you.

As a general practice, you would benefit from looking for a newbie section in any forum you visit. It usually gets you up to speed with its quirks.

Considering the fact that this forum contains 4 MILLION posts and that 4000 more are added on a daily basis, it's actually quite well organised.

All the answers to newbie questions are in the newbie section.

In addition, each section has it's own set of stickies that answer the most common questions asked in the section concerned.

The search function also works very well

Click on "search (http://www.sammyboyforum.com/search.php)" and enter the word "abbreviations" and the thread that answers your question appears immediately.
