Hey just to ask you bros here.. is there any software; freeware or not that allows you to restore/unedit an edited picture to its original form? Such as a resized image, a fragmented image or a cropped image.

Thanks to anybody who replies :)

I think its CTRL+Z for "undo" :D

Seriously, i never came up with that kind of software. If that software exists, hot damn I'll be the first to download it ILLEGALLY.

i'd like to see the reconstruction software that can reconstruct the face of a woman on a digital image scanned from a photo where the face was cut out before scanning:rolleyes:

Precisely. In a digital world, the best cure is to go analog. That poor child porn fellow who was caught by Interpol after photo (whatever) was done on his child sex photos ;)

consumer-level software for this purpose generally restricts you to retrieving whatever hexadecimal values are still present in the file and in the metadata.

higher level software for law enforcement and military use are also available, but they employ complicated algorithms to first select a pixel in the photo and then change the pixels surrounding that first pixel while still retaining the overall image composition.

cheem huh? i just made that up. but, it sounds believable and impressive.

frankly, i have found a software online that lets you unmask edited photos. but first, the photo must be in the original format i.e. from camera, straight to PC, edited, save-as SAME FILE and then uploaded. if you save as a different file, the chances of un-editing drastically drops. needless to say, if you printscreen your edited photo and post THAT printscreen, cant unedit anything lah.

again, please do not ask me for the software name. google is your best friend here. if you need a tip from me, i would suggest you trawl the western amateur forums similar to sammyboy.

cheers

dude, there's no such software.

it's like cutting the photo, burning the cut part, and asking someone to give you the original photo.

pixelised pic will have. (mask/unmask)
cropped. no way.

cropped. no way.

can. provided the full hex values still reside within the file metadata. reconstruct from there. but, cannot get full original res.

here's a clue. windows explorer has thumbnail view. those thumbnails are stored/cached somewhere. think.
