man, i must have wrote too fast. i meant is the standard near to macau.
actually there's no one place in shanghai which has nice big faciliies, and service like 18 macau.
sometimes i go to this big bathhouse called qing shui wan (either clearwater bay, or shallow water bay). but not cheap, and they add in the full service recently.
other than that, it is same ones in the forum, eg. 999 etc.

i heard shanghai hotel too happening, kanna raided. that's why now closed for renovation. is that true?

Looking forward to hearing from the seasoned bros here...Its sad to hear that you got scammed in a ktv. In fact, once in a while I do go to ktv alone. However, the rule of thumb is, you should go to one that you are familiar, ideally, a mamasan or two you know would be of help. If your purpose of going to a ktv is to have some drinks and a female companion, that will lead to a bonk, a safer way I would suggest, first go to a health center to unload. Then go to a pub where you can have a few rounds of drinks, it will be a bonus if the watering hole has some female companion. At the end of the day, you would have achieved most of your objectives, minus the karaoke singing, which can be easily satisfied by going to Qiangui or Haledi. Afterall, its never cheap to bonk someone from a ktv. I would always want to avoid this at all costs, except if the place is somewhere in Dongguan where most deals are straightforward.

Just sharing some personal experience when I was in Shanghai 'god knows how long ago'.

Actually, during my initial days (several years ago) of arrival, quite some new colleagues were asking me if I'd be interested to have a Shanghainese gf. They'd be glad to intro potential candidates to me. Of course, not to be rude, I said can try, maybe got fate, or we may just simply click. But in my mind, I was warned about Shanghainese gals, even b4 I came to Shanghai. In fact, they intro a few. B4 that, they kept telling me the candidate is damn pretty, blah blah blah. Even if those who're connected & can probably try settle wif $$$, the price is gonna be quite high too.

For HC that offers 2 hots depends on the package one takes up. i.e. Tian Long Hc located on Wuzhong Road, junction of Jinhui Road offers 2 shots at the price of RMB 900 net for 100 mins, whereas the rest of the HC that offers 60mins pacakge can only offer 1 shot. Timing & price of package is the essence.

It's been another 2 nites spent in KTVs....

Just want to advise bros here abt 1 ktv. There's a new joint which just had their grand opening last nite. It's called "Zi Jing Cheng", literally means Forbidden City. The interior is also decorated as the real thing....but....PLS DONT GO!! This place sucks big time! Tip is expensive (400 n 600), service bad, very few gals, all below average...

So why I go? One of the gal we know just went over (promoted) to become mummy, so we go support her. We made a big fuss there, refuse to pay...then their manager come n settle wif us.

After reading an FR by one of the bros here, I had to check this place out.

Place: Club 999
Location: No. 999 on Tian Yin Qiao Lu, Pu Xi.

As it was only the first few days of 2008, the place seems rather quiet, I didn't see many customers and even the showers on the ground floor was deserted.

After changing into the shower robe (think that's what it's called), I was guided upstairs by a female staff to pick a girl. Was also thinking about making a short trip over the weekends to nearby cities to cheong. Driver told me that 苏州 and 杭州 are good places to check out with very nice girls. Haven't done any research on these places yet.

If want to travel further, cheap domestic flights can bring you to more exciting cities. But I guess you already know these places...

As per your queries, the cheaper mode of transportation offered in Shanghai to nearby cities i.e. to Hangzhou or Suzhou are as follow;
- by bus (one can take tour buses from Xujiahui Tour Bus Station or at the South Train Station to Hangzhou or Suzhou or any other cities) Cost are as low as RMB 50 yuan ( SGD$10) per trip.

- by train (the new bullet train) to either Hangzhou or Suzhou or any other cities too. Cost are as low as RMB 68 yuan (SGD$14).

However, prior to going to other cities for leisure, the best is to seek out here online at this forum for 'cheonging places' for reliable sources posted by fellow bros in other cities as other cities poses just as much danger for one to get con or cheated! Pls exercise cautions....

For those brudders whom I'd met before, I'd like to say I'm glad we met up & gotta know each other. Especially this whole week, I'm feeling very heavy-hearted, can't bear to leave China. I dont really like Shanghai now (brudders who lived here for several years will understand why) as much as when I came 4 years ago. But then, it's still pretty close to nearby cities such as Nanjing, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Wuxi, etc etc, where it's quite enjoyable in those cities. At the same time, I can be the ah-beng I am, while in China.

Several brudders are oso not in town recently. Sometime in middle to late March, I'll come Shanghai again, either to transit to Sydney, or maybe stay for about 2 weeks to provide some support to the local project here. If more SHA-stationed brudders are in town, maybe can organise a gathering that time.

After that, I'll be in Australia + New Zealand. 2nd half of the year, it's either running Southeast Asia, or North Asia (then I may be back in China again!).

u can try yr luck in babyface. but the gals only come after 2am (mostly ktv gals). Chances in muse, m2 (muse2) are very slim. Armani 3 or 4 is possible but quite dangerous. u can try also quandii, richy, park 97....(all of them are located in fuxin garden).

in short :
ktv gals like to go babyface

Was in chilling cold Shanghai and lonely. Browse the SBF and with so many recommendation of 999 club, decided to make a visit.

I is a very unique place constructed like a black box and most Japanese would like this place. Went in and was greeted here and there. Unfortunately Gao Yuen wasn't in this place any more.

Shanghai is changing so rapidly, even if u are a visitor once every few months, u will feel some difference! At least, I did, when I was away from Shanghai & returned after a few months! not to mention 6 years ago!

Now, it's easier for a lonely guy to be victimised, especially if u had tasted the sweetness few years back & still remininscing about that sweetness.

But again, it all depends on your luck. Just a reminder to be careful, Shanghai has really changed alot. Even lotsa ang mohs around are trash, exactly like those trash in their home countries, not like several years ago, most ang mohs are at least white-collar expats. Now, almost at every corner of the streets, at the corner of your eye, u can see ang mohs. Many of them oso sit by those unlicensed roadside vendors eating roadside food. But the "quality" of the civilisation of those ang mohs is another question mark.

GUANGZHOU, China : China's chief meteorologist admitted on Monday the country was not prepared for the severe winter weather that has stranded millions of people struggling to get home for Lunar New Year.

The blizzards and icy temperatures that have lasted nearly three weeks have left millions stuck at airports, train stations and bus depots across south, central and eastern China.

"We didn't expect the snowy weather would last so long," China Meteorological Administration (CMA) chief Zheng Guoguang said, according to the Xinhua news agency.

"Because it was beyond our expectation we were not prepared," said Zheng, pointing to lack of equipment for removing ice in the south, which is experiencing its worst winter weather in decades.

The fact that the extreme weather occurred during the Lunar New Year holiday when tens of millions of migrant workers rush home to be with their families had only made things worse, he said.

Heavy fog descended on Monday on southern China, complicating the task of helping stranded travellers.

The fog reduced visibility to less than 100 metres in some places, as meteorologists warned a new wave of snow, rain and sleet would likely hit in the next two days, Xinhua said.
At Guangzhou railway station in the south, where one woman was trampled to death in a stampede over the weekend, tens of thousands of people were desperately trying to get a train out before Thursday's Lunar New Year holiday.

"It's very dangerous here because there are too many people around," said Zhou Xiaoyang, a migrant worker standing outside the station with his wife and eight-month-old son.

"Even if you don't push people, they push you. But I have no choice, I have to go home to see my family," he said.

For many, Lunar New Year is their only chance to escape to their families after toiling in the factories, but the crippling weather has led to a massive backlog of travellers in places such as Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, which has China's biggest concentration of migrant workers.

In Guangzhou, about 92,000 people were still waiting late Sunday for a much-coveted train seat, according to official data reported by Xinhua.

Thousands of police were mobilised and deployed at the train station, some lined up several layers deep at barricades, to prevent any repeat of the weekend's deadly stampede.

"For your own and others' safety, all travellers should remain calm," said the message blared out incessantly via loudspeaker. "Don't be anxious, don't push, don't run. Follow the police officers' orders to queue up quickly."

President Hu Jintao called on the public to remain confident in the battle against the severe weather, according to Xinhua.

"We have to continue to put relief work as the top priority and carry it out in real earnest," Hu added.

And Premier Wen Jiabao said things were slowly returning to normal.

"At present, electricity supply is gradually resuming and transport services are basically back to normal, and the country's production and life are in normal conditions," Wen said.

A key expressway linking Beijing to the southern city of Zhuhai near Macau was fully reopened for traffic early Monday, Xinhua reported.

The drivers of 6,000 vehicles, some of whom had been stuck in the snow and ice for nine days, were rescued by soldiers as the army even deployed tanks to clear the ice in some areas, it said.

However, 17,000 vehicles remained stranded on nine different sections of expressway around China, the agency reported.

The weather has destroyed crops, hit industrial production, disrupted coal and food supplies and led to power blackouts, at an estimated cost of around 7.5 billion dollars, according to official figures.

At least 105 million out of the country's 1.3 billion people have been affected and scores have been killed, the government says.

Eleven electricians have been killed in the storms as they tried to restore power to regions hit by blackouts, Xinhua said on Monday.

You can try this massage joint that I have been to on Chang De Road, junction of Chang Ping Road I think...been there only once so kinda forgotten the exact road junction...apologies. It's just on the main road of Chang De road so one shouldn't miss it. Forgot the name of the joint too but it's facing the MRT Tunneling wok site so quite prominent.

There are quite a lot of advertisement on the Shanghai Daily. If you guy happen to travel to Taipei as well, you will see the same pimps name on the Taipei newspaper as well. If you managed to let them know that they are from Taipei and try to negotiate a bit. You would get cheaper but you will get better service girl. I tried a few times and they managed to get me what I asked for.

I cannot recall their names on the paper, but when you call their number. It takes a slightly longer time to ring. Very likely the phone get routed to Taipei and they command from there.

A total disappointment!!!! The gals turned up at the doorsteps are literally 'horrendous' in figures + looks!!
Most of all, for every gal that one turn away, he has to pay for the cab fare of min RMB 20-50 depending on where the gal came from.....waste of time + $$!!
My suggestion is best to go to a HC and pick your taste, with the full services render by the gal, and most of all, the assurance provided.

Just finished a 90+ minute session with her so this is an almost LIVE report.

As per you mentioned & described here, I think those 'Foot Massage' places you came acrossed are actually 'BBS' (aka barber Shop yet offering only HJ, FJ in disguise of a BBS) similar in nature.
Not sure on how much the present price ranges are but likely to be in the range of RMB 50-70 for a HJ (hand-job) and perhaps RMB 150-200 for FJ (fcuk-job) I presumed...depending on one's haggling and bargaining ability to the gals, and also of course depending on which area in Shanghai the joint is located at. In downtown area, with higher rental some joints tend to charge higher than those located in outer areas.
