Very few clinic carries it and pharmacy doesnt sell over the counter. The gel you are looking for is called "wartec" and to be applied to the affected area only (best with cotton bud or something like that) to burn it off. Takes a couple of week usually to get rid of it. cos u have to apply 3 days take a day rest and then re-apply again. IMPT: Dont use your finger to apply cos it burns off skin of your finger - its a form of acid.

Best way is to go to a skin specialist and get it burn off with liquid nitrogen much faster (usually 2 - 3 trips) however cost more. Get a referral from your GP

Hope this helps

Do not want to give Bro Nabei wrong info. because certain medication cannot be used for genital warts. Like you mentioned liquid nitrogen it is not applicable to treat Genital warts, poor Bro. will be walking kangkang for two weeks.

Liquid nitro is used for treating Viral Warts on the body. Mainly on the foot. If you have genital warts, do not even attempt liquid nitro on your prick. You might end up loosing more that your warts! Hope you get my drift dude.

The over the counter creams available at pharmacies are not meant for genital warts. Please consult the DSC or your neighbourhood family doctor.

HPV has no known cure. There are treatments for genital warts, though they often disappear even without treatment. There is no way to predict whether the warts will grow or disappear. Therefore, if you suspect you have genital warts, you should be examined and treated, if necessary.

Depending on factors such as the size and location of your genital warts, your health care provider will offer you one of several ways to treat them.

• Imiquimod cream
• 20 percent podophyllin antimitotic solution
• 0.5 percent podofilox solution
• 5 percent 5-fluorouracil cream
• Trichloroacetic acid (TCA)

If you are pregnant, you should not use podophyllin or podofilox because they are absorbed by your skin and may cause birth defects in your baby. In addition, you should not use 5-fluorouracil cream if you are expecting.

If you have small warts, your health care provider can remove them by one of three methods.

• freezing (cryosurgery)
• burning (electrocautery)
• laser treatment

If you have large warts that have not responded to other treatment, you may have to have surgery to remove them.

Some health care providers use the antiviral drug alpha interferon, which they inject directly into the warts, to treat warts that have returned after removal by traditional means. The drug is expensive, however, and does not reduce the rate that the genital warts return.

Although treatments can get rid of the warts, none get rid of the virus. Because the virus is still present in your body, warts often come back after treatment.

The last portion reminds that it is a dormant virus that can stay in the body for gawd knows how long.

Genital warts are an off-shoot of HPV, which is an STD. If you have symptoms conisistant with HPV or genital warts you should go to a physician.

Don't use over the counter medications and for damn sure don't use liquid nitrogen unless under consultation with a physician.

First mistake of treating STDs is to self-medicate.....go to a doctor. Wrong medication may give you the wrong impression that it has healed. But in fact many STDs disappear by itself while you continue infecting others.

I hope that my thread (http://www.sammyboyforum.com/showthread.php?t=25305) can help.

Just to add on what Candi mentioned in his post.

One brudder mentioned that should not self medicate. I agree wholely. Genital warts are a sticky issue. they might come back again, god knows when and it's good to have the doctor's opinion on all these. Especially if you are married because it could cause cancer to your wife.

cheers.

counseling would be advised also.

always practice safe sex. better still, abstinence. :D
