Personally i'd advocate not ejaculating unless absolutely necessary; there's a school of thought that says one ejaculation for every 1000 thrusts. Yeah, your master is right, if ejaculation is withheld, the channel from testicles to prostate to the tip of the penis can be clogged with seminal fluid, and probably the next day when urinating it'd all come out. I think this is called a retrograde ejaculation, and is definitely not good for the body. The damage to qi is worse than a normal ejaculation.

Hmm for huiyin point, it's between the base of anus and base of testicles, at the middle. Easy to find the point by applying kegel squeezing exercises, and if you use the finger to press inwards, the finger can go slightly deeper than other parts of the tube/channel, right at the point. Don't really recommend Mantak Chia's method of pressing on the point while ejaculating to stop semen from coming out, cos it usually results in a retrograde ejaculation, for the reason your master mentioned.

For the qua, it's at the exact stop the heels of the foot press on, when doing full lotus position, i.e. the middle point of the thigh where the leg joins the hipbone, on both sides of the body. I also feel the reason why some people are skeptical of all of this qigong reasonings is because firstly this society is pretty westernized. Secondly, image plays a part too, i mean u look at TCM, traditional chinese medicine and u'll see that the patients and the doctors tend to be chinese educated and belonging to the older generation. I mean somehow in our education system TCM is not really being promoted. Let's say you go to study medicine and you dream to become a Dr with your own practice. The curriculum here mostly focuses on western medicine and practices, i think if you want to study chinese medicine you would probably need to learn it through some chinese association.

FYI practices like accpuncture are known as alternate remedies. It's just a PC way of saying treatment using old wives tales methods.

The pity about TCM is that it has been very much abused by a lot of conman and received a lot of bad repute. It undeniably has its own unique and practical practises but problem was that due to abuse for monetary benefits, superstions and cultural difference, it has not had much of a chance to progress, too busy trying to right the wrongs perpetuated by sceptics and conmen.

This thread has been very interesting and I would have like to know more but my chinese capability is pte ltd. Hated chinese lessons and so altho I can speak the language, can't read much of it. So, unable to surf to learn more about it as most relevant sites to this topic is in the chinese language.

But one thing I do know is this : 异曲同工.

I was correct when I said he was trying to sow discord between participants of 2 different threads, but now he has come out to admit his stand all this while. Based on his 'advice' that we were all self-deceiving, he didn't have to ask 'Who is correct ?' in the first place. He had pre-knowledge of who was correct all along. :)

The dichotomy between Western medicine and TCM is akin to English educated Chinese belittling their own culture. Is the Chinese language inferior to English ? I have yet to come across any Chinese who has a solid foundation in Chinese history and literature belittling the Chinese language and culture.

Did you notice something ? When the TCM proposes something unheard of in Western medicine, they don't speak condescendingly against the Western medicine. But whenever the Western medicine disagrees with TCM, they will always go one step further and make TCM sound ridiculous. I'm fine if these people are really doctors. However, most of the time the people who speak condescendingly are not doctors.

Often the various remarks can be summed up in one template: 'You're superstitious and ignorant because I'm for Western medicine only.' Did you notice these supporters of 'victors' didn't even address the arguments raised by TCM ? They put a label on you, and go on to discredit you based on the label that they have put. No effort is made to analyse the logic of the arguments put forth by TCM. And no effort is made to justify the label being there in the first place.

And if you speak about 醫德 it seems that TCM offers more free clinics than Western doctors, who charged high fees in order to service their condos and Benz so that they can appear on Singapore Tatler and Prestige magazines. TCM physicians have convinced me that they studied medicine to 'save the people' 普渡眾生, not as a vehicle to obtaining more wealth.

I admire Western medicine, but I respect TCM, even if they don't drive the latest SLK or wear Patek Phillipe.

It's just a bit of a sidetrack like i'm just pondering could you be more on the mature side in terms of age since the youngsters of today all seem to be too caught up in everything western. Chinese language usage is also going downwards, most youngsters speak english.


Yes i do notice the difference between how TCM and western medicinal practioners treat one another and it doesn't help by the fact that society does put greater emphasis on western medicine. Probably most or all hospitals in SG use western medication. TCM practices are categorised under "alternate remedies", not a very flattering term at all.


I'm not here to really discuss about the moralistic issues between TCM and western doctors. That could be discussed in a seperate thread. Perhaps Peter if you don't mind could you maybe send a link or perhaps give a simplistic explaination or elaborate more on the Qi aspect of the human body. What is "Qi" called in english terms?

I used to study biology in school. The body has many systems like digestion, blood circulation etc but the one which seemed to be the most difficult to understand is the nervous system and i think that even doctors of today might not truly understand the nervous system.

Anyway the human body is very complex and difficult to understand. That's why getting a license to become a practicing Dr is a very long and tedious process. Unless you study it, i doubt a layman could truly understand all the workings.


Secondly TCM uses chinese terms to describe the various workings of the body. That's a problem cos many singaporeans have varying proficencies in reading and speaking chinese. I believe there is quite a significant number of singaporeans whom have difficulty reading advanced chinese words and terms. It's going to be a nightmare and a very tedious process using a dictionary to translate these terms for these singaporeans.

Lastly it's also the image. TCM seems to be associated with the older "cheena" type of ppl. For some people it's quite hard to take these type of cheena ppl seriously if you know what i mean. I'm not trying to be offensive here, i'm just explaining the mindset of these people. Therefore sometimes perhaps it's better to elaborate a bit more on certain terms used in TCM like "heatiness", "qi" for eg just to clarify any doubts or confusion.
