Can anyone recommend a good place for STD / HIV testing. Thanks. I am on the East but dont mind travelling.

You can go to a few places.

Action for AIDS (http://www.afa.org.sg)offers HIV testing, and also testing for syphilis. Around $20 - $30 right now.

DSC clinic (http://www.dsc-sexualhealth.com.sg/) at 31 Kelantan Lane offers the most comprehensive tests for STDs. It's also the most affordable.

Besides Action for AIDS, you can try the other clinics. They're slightly more expensive at around $50. GP clinics may not offer all the tests/diagnosis for STDs.

Was @ AFA last evening.
Both Test for HIV & Syphilis cost $30:)
cos July was Syphilis month, guess it a package promotion (^.^)

Hope that after they increase their cost, they will have such package promotion too.
