Kempinsky is actually across the street from Grand Hyatt. So, same advice. I think it would be better for you to go out, since Kota is a most 45 mins away north of your hotel. You can visit the regular places like Malioboro, or any other places on Mangga Besar road.

About JKT atm does not gives good exchange rates, service charges is about 5 sg dollars per withdraw.
Every bank is about the same, about RP 10,000,000 per day, or your card's limit....which ever comes first.
Every withdraw is about RP 2,500,000.

Regarding the hotel girls, I first realized this was an option while staying at Shangri La about five years ago, on the second of many visits.

Got back from JKT a few days ago, and got to meet up with Neptune85 during his time there. Some useful information i gleaned from my time to share with you guys.

- If you are not looking for paid service, checking out clubs like X2 and Dragonfly around the South of Jakarta is a good idea. For North Jakarta, there is Illigals and Club 36. Try to google for information on whether theres a special event so u dont land up in a club that is empty :) Some girls out there are out to hunt for Bules (White males) though so you have to manage your expectations.
For day game, malls like Plaza Senayan, Plaza Indonesia, Grand Indonesia may have girls that are better than average, more indochinese there as well. Just pick up some courage and get a number, dinner/drinks and etc.

- Classic Hotel still one of the best places to go for paid sex imo, the price point is attractive enough for locals, currently 1girl, 1 hour for 350k, 2 girl, 90min for 525k. No point fighting too much over it, corruption is a serious issue there and my local indonesian friends say they have to pay up as well. Try not to overpay, normally around 100k should be fine.

- Wechat massage is a hit and miss thing, the pictures are expectedly going to be deceiving, dont be afraid to ask them for more if you feel like it. Rates are standard, 200k/90min, 250k/2h.

- Talked to some German Bules, concurred that using Tinder is really easy pickings. Just find the most decent profile photo you have, swipe as much as you have to, and arrange for some meetups, some girls are willing to go to your apartment directly, just remember to take care of your belongings. Kalijodo is the biggest Red Light District in Jakarta.

Considering the vast array and selection of the SP scene here, it really shocks me that this area isn't discussed more often on these forums. I haven't heard about this area at all until I recently saw a report on jakarta100bars , but now plan to visit it for my hunt for the 'diamond in the rough'. I don't think I can post the link here, but it can be easily searched for and I will provide some of the details here.

Kalijodo is a 1 km long stretch, in grogol bordering North and West Jakarta, and can be seen coming from the Airport. It is a 20 min taxi ride from SunCity if non-traffic hours. SPs can be found on the streets, or in any of the 'establishments' which appear to be bars, clubs etc... for anywhere between 50 - 150k. While I don't think they will be as pretty as ones in places like Malio or Alexis, I am guessing you can find 5-6s like in Classic Hotel, along with the occasional stunner if you look hard. On weekends it is hopping, with people of different backgrounds, rich, poor, indo, Chinese.

Be warned that this area is not for the faint of heart. It is described as a bright, hardcore Ghetto, which is Gang controlled. However, i think their interest is to keep things running smooth, rather than to cause you trouble and gather police attention. Aside from their mafia parking rates (when you come in a taxi) of 20k, they don't appear to be any hassle to you.

If there are any bros who have been to Kalijodo, I would love to hear your opinion of it. I plan to visit Kalijodo on my next visit, and my hope is to encourage the more daring bros who love 'budget bonks' to take a look at this place and see whether there are hidden gems here. After all, it cant' be worse than Blok M, and is much closer for those staying in the north.

Kalijodo is the biggest Red Light District in Jakarta.

Considering the vast array and selection of the SP scene here, it really shocks me that this area isn't discussed more often on these forums. I haven't heard about this area at all until I recently saw a report on jakarta100bars , but now plan to visit it for my hunt for the 'diamond in the rough'. I don't think I can post the link here, but it can be easily searched for and I will provide some of the details here.

Kalijodo is a 1 km long stretch, in grogol bordering North and West Jakarta, and can be seen coming from the Airport. It is a 20 min taxi ride from SunCity if non-traffic hours. SPs can be found on the streets, or in any of the 'establishments' which appear to be bars, clubs etc... for anywhere between 50 - 150k. While I don't think they will be as pretty as ones in places like Malio or Alexis, I am guessing you can find 5-6s like in Classic Hotel, along with the occasional stunner if you look hard. On weekends it is hopping, with people of different backgrounds, rich, poor, indo, Chinese.

Be warned that this area is not for the faint of heart. It is described as a bright, hardcore Ghetto, which is Gang controlled. However, i think their interest is to keep things running smooth, rather than to cause you trouble and gather police attention. Aside from their mafia parking rates (when you come in a taxi) of 20k, they don't appear to be any hassle to you.

If there are any bros who have been to Kalijodo, I would love to hear your opinion of it. I plan to visit Kalijodo on my next visit, and my hope is to encourage the more daring bros who love 'budget bonks' to take a look at this place and see whether there are hidden gems here. After all, it cant' be worse than Blok M, and is much closer for those staying in the north.

First time tonight being busted by Police road check. Read past the jump for details.

I knew they would ask for a bribe, and so I hid some of my cash away in my secret pocket in my pants. They threatened to take me to immigration - I played the dumb tourist card knowing they wanted a bribe and walked straight into the back seat of police car, acting unscarred or worried about immigration. Officer 'faked' driving away, when other officer opened door and said ' we can end now' . He spoke to me for long time in Bahasa and I kept saying I don't understand, until I made him explicitly say 'Money'. I had to make sure Officer was one who offered accepting bribe, so at least I have an ignorance/language barrier plea, and because I don't want to be charged/implicated with offering bribe to officer. They wanted 1 million , and I showed them my partially emptied wallet with about 400k rupiah (didn't have time to hide more money in pants). They took the cash and let me go. I know I took a bit of risk but hid about 750k rp which I believe they would have taken anyways . If any Bros in Jakarta going home late from Kota area, I would make these suggestions

1. Try to go home before 12 or after 5 am to avoid road checks geared towards ecstasy using club goers

2. Bring your Passport (maybe) I still think Police are corrupt and they'll still try to squeeze money from you regardless. Maybe you'll get an honest officer for a change who will let you go. I'm undecided on this issue as you risk losing your passport while carrying it, and it will cost much more in time and money to get sorted out.

3. Carry minimal cash. Rely more on credit cards if going to fancy places like Alexis, 1001, colleseum. Especially in the North Kota area where roadblocks are common.

4. Wait for Officer to 'offer' accepting bribe. Don't initiate it since you may get in more trouble, and lose the ignorance defence. Don't act scared or nervous or else you'll get squeezed for more. officers are lazy and don't want want to take you to station unless something serious.

5. (Risky but optional) When you see Police roadblock. hide your cash in back pockets or shoe. If you don't officers will squeeze you for it if they find it.

I know 2 guys recently squeezed of 2 million on their first day. I'm fortunate I wasn't squeezed for that much. I took a risk with hiding cash, but inherently knew corrupt cops are lazy, and would rather make a Little bit of dirty cash instead of driving me to station and doing paperwork for a minor infraction.

In Jakarta, normally a photocopy of passport would be suffice for identification purposes. If the policemen not happy, they are welcome to accompany you to hotel to take a look at your original, but obviously they won't. This is legal robbery act by police. Couple years ago when I was caught at 9pm plus after dinner at Lokasari in Kota without even a photocopy, 50K bribe would suffice but I spoke to them in perfect Bahasa Indonesia (damai, Pak, udah mau pulang ke hotel, dibiarin aja deh. Trims banget).

Jakarta not the best place for tabao / Long time /booking out / takeout or whatever u want to call it. That said, some places are:

Bats/CJs: prices are 1.5-2M, but can negotiate down to 1M near closing. Mostly 30+ Y.O. Milf types

4Play lounge in Alexis: careful when asking because some girls not WG. You can ask a bouncer or waiter to help you find. Prices from 1.5-3M

Discos/Clubs: Crown, Milles have WGs there. Most discos in North have WGs or normal girls that fuck on the side for $$. Not sure of prices. Some normal girls will sleep with if you buy them drinks and drugs

Bro Lost... Alexis local is not Rp6.8m.. rather about Rp 1m and import is about Rp 2.5m.

We are talking about tabao from Alexis for overnight at hotel, not Single session at Alexis. It may be slightly cheaper after Midnight, but not sure as that was the price quoted to me by captain.

And to be precise, single session at Alexis is 1.4M for locals, and 2.4M for imports. Just confirm last week.

I learn a long time ago never to pay upfront to play, and especially with that price. Warning bells should go off every time, as it creates excuse for WG to shortchange service or leave early, or even worse scam you. Ask yourself if you ever need to pay upfront at Alexis or Malioboro. Only At hotel Classic you pay upfront but it's only 350k and established location.

Jakarta not the best place for tabao / Long time /booking out / takeout or whatever u want to call it. That said, some places are:

Bats/CJs: prices are 1.5-2M, but can negotiate down to 1M near closing. Mostly 30+ Y.O. Milf types

4Play lounge in Alexis: careful when asking because some girls not WG. You can ask a bouncer or waiter to help you find. Prices from 1.5-3M

Discos/Clubs: Crown, Milles have WGs there. Most discos in North have WGs or normal girls that fuck on the side for $$. Not sure of prices. Some normal girls will sleep with if you buy them drinks and drugs

Alexis Bathhouse: they will know how to fuck you well, but not cheap. 6.8M for local Indo, not sure for import.

Street WGs: on Gajah Mada south of Malioboro, there are girls with scooter pimps. Also outside Hotel travel, WG s inside Vans that touts will direct you to. also behind hotel travel, on Jl. Tasman sari house 75, have 5-10 WGs inside. prices are 300-400 St, maybe 1-1.5m LT. Quality of these places not that great; on par with classic hotel or less never see a stunner at these prices.

OKTs: Usually have the best looking gals, although their pics are also photoshopped. Many are magazine models like Indo FHM. I never tried this route, and I feel that OKTs use high-pressure sales tactics to try rip off dumb Bros. with more money than brains. Also, I don't like to buy before I see the goods in person, as I can't trust what will actually show up at my door, and at that point things get awkward if I send her away. There are a few OKTs lurking on these forums if you search and want to go this route, or just post and I"m sure one of them will PM you. Prices are from 5-7M on average. Most OKTs are not upfront with pricing, and simply ask you "how much you wanna pay?", leading me to believe they'll offer you the same girls in their pool matched to your max budget. There are many money exchangers on main roads in the North (Dollarindo, on Gajah Mada, Jl. Samanhudi, Jl. Mangga Besar etc.)

The best place I have found in the North is in the "Globe Complex/building" just east of Pasar Baru Market, entrance facing Jl. Samanhudi, very close to Classic Hotel. Entrance to building looks a bit ghetto, but whole 1st floor is basically Money changers. I use one on the right side back of the building. Owner is Chinese speaking lady, and always gives the best rates - usually $2/3 more for every $100 exchanged! There is a desk inside where you can count your money, and totally safe despite the building/area looking crap. Exchanged 1000's of $ and never had a single issue. I go here every time

All season next to Holiday Inn Express in Thamrin. But you might want to check out Ibis or similar budget hotel or 3 star hotel in and around kota. So it is closer to the cheong places.

You might want to consider 2 weeks after lebaran as the gals will just get back on the 1st week after Lebaran. You would have more selection after 2 weeks when things are normal.
