Prepaid card of Rup 100 k (or US 12) could be purchase basically everywhere and anywhere in Jakarta. No problem at all.

Mercure Rekso - good location at main road of Jln. Hayam Waruk. Very near Kartika, not too far from Lokasari and Pen-Jay area. Nice rooms and ambience. Excellent b/f buffet; wif timsum too. Price a tad high at Rp365k but still ok.

Jayakarta Tower - A short distance from Mercure. Used to be a top hotel in its glory old days. Now somewhat rundown wif stale atmosphere. Super and Rasa Sayang at its doorsteps. Affordable at Rp250k. Haven't stayed there for donkey years.

Olympic - Smack in the Lokasari red light complex. KTV wif plenty of China MMs in its premises. Noisy but not a problem for those late birds. Lowest priced rooms at Rp180k but a little small. Rp220k for a more spacious one. Bonus: inhouse blue movies (stategically mosaiced or airbrushed) that run all night.

Mr Herry, a former EO, told The Sunday Times: 'I did everything, from arranging meetings between my clients and the girls, to sometimes even accompanying the women to shop with money given by the clients.

'An aspiring model costs about 5 million rupiah a night, the more famous ones, up to 25 million.'

Even ordinary sex workers make good money.

Dewi, 24, says she earns at least 1.5 million rupiah a week working at a club in Chinatown.

She got into the business with the help of an erotic dancer she met at a bus terminal when she first arrived in Jakarta.

'I never wanted to get into this, but I have a daughter and a family to take care of,' the widow told The Sunday Times.

Another growing market are Indonesia's gays, who have been coming out of the closet.

You are pretty safe from HIV as what I can see from your description.
HIV basically transmit through the exchange of body fluids.
